World’s First Gold LEED Hotel

by erin on Saturday, July 14th, 2007

The Gaia Napa Valley Hotel in California has just been awarded the LEED Gold Certification. This is the highest certification a building can get in terms of eco-efficiency and sustainability.

The hotel is still has a charming old world feel, while using some of the most up-to-date environmentally friendly technologies. The hotel evokes green in everything from the recycled carpet and hardwood beneath your feet, to the solar powered lighting to the recycled paper products in every room and office to finding An Inconvenient Truth in your night stand next to the Bible.

It sounds like eco-heaven to me! To find out more, check out the hotel’s website!
