A Solar Powered Bikini!
I’ve been trying to figure out how this product is actually useful. It’s great that every industry is trying to capitalize on the greening of the collective consumer consciousness, but why would anyone buy this for any reasons beyond novelty?
Gizmodo explains: “the suit is a standard medium-sized bikini swimsuit retrofitted with 1″ x 4″ photovoltaic film strips sewn together in series with conductive thread. The cells terminate in a female USB connection and whatever circuitry necessary to ensure proper output voltage. (i.e. 5v voltage regulator)”The suit itself produces just enough energy to run an iPod for a day at the beach.
The one question I have is: Can you actually swim in this suit?
