We have seen disposable cameras before but now a cardboard digital camera has taken center stage. Although the camera is not really made to be sold in retail, the Knappa Cardboard Digital Camera is something that is being given away by IKEA as part of the new PS2012 furniture collection.
The Knappa camera runs on two AA batteries and can store 40 x 2.3 megapixel images. Apparently the reason why the Knappa was packaged with the furniture collection is to entice them to take pictures of the furniture pieces which they would purchase.
The camera is made out of one folded cardboard that is kept intact with the help of two screws. A single circuit board holds all the electronics, camera sensor and integrated USB connector.
