Monitoring Energy Consumption with EnergyHub

by Brian Yalung on Sunday, August 17th, 2008

As far as conserving electric consumption is concerned, it is the dream of any person to be guided on how to do so. We can do our own little things, turning off lights or unplugging certain appliances when not in use. These are true energy savers. But to actually get reports and measure the degree of energy consumption is another. This is what EnergyHub aims to explore.

EnergyHub is a technology start-up that aligns the interests of utility companies and consumers. We give consumers the ability to monitor and control their home energy use, reduce their electricity consumption, and save money. We give utilities the ability to better manage peak loads, extend demand response to residential customers on a wide scale, and engage their customers in the process. By combining information with automation, EnergyHub’s system reduces home electricity usage by up to 20%.

Not a bad deal if it is all in good faith. Perhaps EnergyHub is the answer for all your conservation woes!
