Come 2011, techies will be able to get a charger that they can place on their car’s windshields. This is the Powermat Wireless Charger which is slated to make its debut later in the year. The charger offers support for any phone type. The charger would be great for cars with multiple drivers, or drivers with multiple phones, since people will not need to keep multiple car chargers in the car.
To make it work, the Powermat Charger draws its power from the car’s cigarette lighter socket. With that said, it does seem that this thing seems like most car chargers we know of today. However, the charger mounts on the windshield, placing the phone at an eye level for easier access of navigation apps.
The wireless car charger is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2011, and will sell for $59.
