Sony Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Battery USB Charging Station

by Brian Yalung on Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Device or gadget chargers are growing in demand these days and one thing we see common is the turn towards solar powered or other forms of alternative means of recharging a mobile phone or portable media device. Sony, known for producing a part of these gadgets has come up with a Direct Methanol Fuel Cell Battery USB Charging Station that is sure to be adored by these gadget geeks to help charge up their devices.

Current DMFCs are limited in the power they can produce, but can still store a high energy content in a small space. This means they can produce a small amount of power over a long period of time. This makes them presently ill-suited for powering vehicles (at least directly), but ideal for consumer goods such as mobile phones, digital cameras or laptops.
