Japanese-inspired lamps have been posted here before and here are some variants that should capture your interest. Wieki Somers of Roterdam outs these bizarre looking lamps, something that were reportedly inspired by her travels from Japan.
The lamps are part of a series called Mitate, something that is said to signify the perception of an object in a non-habitual way. Among the lamps in the collection include that of the Chuugi which is based on fabrics that geishas would use to shield their skin.
Then there is also the Jin Lamp, inspired by traditional flags Samurai used to wear with their armor and the Rei Lamp which takes inspiration from Japanese dolls.
Whichever lamp you choose, there should certainly be one of the lamps in the Mitate series that should fit right in your home.
