Environmental Careers, Jobs Resources, and Horticulture Science
Do you want to be a Solar Design Engineer? or How about a Director of Restoration Ecology?
There are two good resources for finding current and leading environmental jobs. American Solar Energy Society has a jobs section with company bio’s and job descriptions and if saving the environment though plant research and ecology is more your thing, then perhaps a career in Horticulture, is for you. The American Society for Horticultural Science is a useful resource that promotes research and education of plant science. They have job opportunity listings, career profiles, online course listings, and a portal to colleges and universities that offer two-year and four-year horticulture science degree programs.
Pictured above is Nicole Cavender, who is the Director of Restoration Ecology for The Wilds Organization in Cumberland, Ohio. She is profiled by ASHA and goes on to explain a little bit of what being a horticultarist is all about.
