Handy bags made from coffee bags

by David Allen on Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

At first glance these bags look as if they are just a bag with a nice pattern on. But upon closer inspection you will see that they are made from a sack of some sort. In this case the sack is an old recycled coffee sack and looks very neat too, with prices staring at around $15 they are not going to break the bank.

These totes are sewn up via a vocational training program at a women’s correctional facility in Shakopee, MN. This training program’s main goals are:

1. Help offenders gain and maintain industry employment within a facility learning specific trade skills.

2. Offer extra assistance with employment planning (interviewing skills, resume, portfolio, etc.)

3. Supply job leads in field of skill and location of release.

4. Provide a general job reference (job verification) to potential employers.
