Puma takes it up a green notch by launching a new collection line, reportedly stuff that are recyclable or biodegradable. Known for their fine line of sporting wear ranging from shoes to apparel and accessories, the process collects old apparel under their “Bring Me Back” program.
The new program thus gives old materials a new lease on life rather than add to the waste issues we already have a lot off. The resulting new line boasts of new materials which can be broken down by microorganisms and into biodegradable nutrients.
One of the prerequisites is that the raw materials are organic fibers without toxic materials and that they follow certain international standards for composting to minimize their environmental impact.
The recyclable products, in turn, are made with metals, textiles and plastic than can be reused to make other products. The recyclables include the PUMA Backpack and the PUMA Track Jacket.
