Matt & Nat is a fabulous line of high-quality vegan purses. Their synthetic leather bags are mostly made with PVC and sometimes PU (polyurethane). While PVC and PU aren’t very good for the environment (*sigh*), it is a step up from traditional leather….

    how can you say that pvc is a step up from leather? It is one of the most poisonous substances on our planet? even if we aren't wearing the animals, they are going to die because of our refusal to stop buying products like these. i can't understand a company that calls itself ethical in one breath, and then produces its toxic products in CHINA in the other.
  • I'm glad someone recognizes the BS attached to the fact that 'vegan leather' is just a cute way of saying PVC, PU... Google the harmful effects it causes to the environment, and how unsustainable their products are. Goto a landfill and see the piles of vinyl bags that are not biodegradable. Goto the factories in China and see how the workers are treated. It will turn you off as it did to me.
