Dan Akroyd’s Eco-Winery
When I think of a green celebrity, Dan Aykroyd doesn’t come to mind. Cameron Diaz, yes. Leo DiCaprio, yes. Laurie David, definitely.
Despite this lack of eco-alter-ego, Aykroyd is lending his name to a Canadian eco-winery.
”We joked about doing a Coneheads vodka or something,” the 54-year-old actor said, referring to one of his best-known characters on NBC’s ”Saturday Night Live.” ”And I never thought that a line of wines would be a possibility.”
The Dan Aykroyd Winery will be in Lincoln, Ontario and operations should be ready for the 2008 season. It will include lots of eco-elements such as solar and wind power, and waste-water management.
