Eco Paks Changing UK Milk Buying Ways
A Welsh farmer’s co-op is selling milk by the bag.
But not just any bag. This bag, the Calon Wen Eco Pak milk bag, uses 75% less plastic than the traditional milk bags.While the new bags make milk slightly more expensive, Calon Wen expects the product to be a big hit.
“The reason I think it will be a success is because environmental issues are high on the agenda now – and with 75% less packaging it’s a massive reduction in waste every year,” said Elen Morris, Calon Wen’s marketing officer from their base in Whitland, Carmarthenshire.
Similar initiatives have caught on in Canada, but fell flat in Australia and New Zealand.
