Eggs are a great way to stay healthy and now it looks like a new kind of egg may be out soon. Although the eggs may not look like real and actual eggs, Beyond Eggs offers a curious twist to these plant-based egg substitutes.
The eggs reportedly taste like authentic eggs after being hydrated. These grey-powdery substitutes are made from plant products like sunflower lecithin, canola, peas and natural gums from tree saps which should offer a healthier way of consuming and enjoying eggs.
The eggs were not meant to actually compete with real eggs in the market. Rather, they were made to provide protein-rich substitute in recipes and baked goodies. The overall cost for creating these plant-based eggs are 18% cheaper than battery-produced eggs, good news for the bakeries looking at ways to fight of increasing costs.
