Ships May Break into North Pole this Summer

We all know for a fact that climate change and global warming issues are still in the air and while many are trying desperately to save what is left of our world, you just have to face facts. Summer is just around the corner and this means another wave of heat and warm days ahead.
Up in the North Pole, this may be bad news. The continuous melting of the polar ice caps may soon allow ships to pass through, totally annihilating the once impossible land filled with ice. But if you think you can pass through and see the polar bears or penguins up close again, think again. They may have drowned already by the time you can get a ship to pass there.
The potential landmark thaw – the first time in human history the pole would be ice-free – is a stark sign of global warming, according to an article Friday on the web site of the The Independent, a London newspaper.
“Symbolically it is hugely important,” said Mark Serreze of the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center in Colorado. “There is supposed to be ice at the North Pole, not open water.”
