Parisian design firm Studio Andrew Todd recently announced their plans to build a mammoth circular theater. However, this is no ordinary theater, since it will be made entirely from recycled paper. The architectural marvel will be built for the 2013 World Stage Design event in Cardiff and will seek design inspiration from London’s Globe Theater. Highlights of the design will include swirling walls made from recycled paper, which will be held by a scaffolding-like exoskeleton.
The paper will be sourced from old newspapers, magazines, and even office paper, and the bales of paper will be assembled and stacked in a circular style. The circular theater in turn will have a roof made from recycled circus tent material stretched over a bamboo frame. All in all, quite a marvelous feat, don’t you think?
