Old Truck Loading Facility is now a Green Park in Tulsa

Guthrie Green Park

It is not really new to hear about old abandoned places being revived and renovated into something cool but as far as the Guthrie Green Park over in Tulsa, the change is simply something astounding to overlook. For one, the area which was once used as a truck loading facility is now an eye-sore, complete with green innovations thanks to some solar and geothermal powered innovations.

The park which opened in September, features a green lawn and a stage which is solar powered. The stage thus becomes a neat place for concerts and events while complimenting the whole setup are fountains.

Aside from that, the park also acts as a geothermal sink to provide energy efficient heating (and cooling) for nearby buildings, a renewed piece which should offer new ideas when it comes to giving forgotten spaces a new look and purpose.
