Eco-friendly homes are nothing new these days and in the limelight as we speak is the Guscott Kemp Home located in British Columbia. Made significantly of wood, this sustainable home has gained the highest LEED certification which is a platinum rating.
The Guscott Kemp Home boasts of zero carbon, uses a heat pump and has no gas connections. Apparently it banks on solar energy owing to the fact that it is positioned towards the sun. Also, the home receives more shade during the day and is more exposed during the winter months, alleviating any need for extra air conditioning or heating.
