Get to know the (U.K.) National Bike Network

by Missy on Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

The National Bike Network, based in the U.K., is a project created way back in 1984, to enable increased use of biking as an alternative and earth friendly means of transportation. The National Bike Network is giving away a free cycling info packet that includes route maps, and tips on cycling to school, work, shopping, exercise, or just cycling for fun.

The network since its inception has gone on to create over 10,000 miles of congestion-free, quiet lanes, road walking and cycling routes around the UK and digg this, a whopping 75% of the population lives within two miles of the network. Whether you live in the states or overseas, why not get out and about today…by bike.
