Qatar Airways Launches Natural Gas Commercial Jet
Qatar Airways has defied the odds and perhaps flown a jet like no other airline has yet dared. This is what sums up the new development that Qatar Airways has officially flown the first commercial jet that runs on natural gas. This alternative fuel discovery was able to power an Airbus A340-600 from London Gatwick that landed in the Qatari capital, Doha.
From the look of it, this may be a good sign for the aviation sector. Unless some kinks come out, you can bet that natural gas may yet be the answer to the fuel woes of the transport industry. Then again, this is just one flight and other issues like impact on the engines and the volume of use need to be observed and recorded further.
