Africa Taking Their Pollution Problems Seriously

While Africa has not been known to have a serious problem with pollution, they are taking advanced steps and preventive maintenance measures to avoid falling into the same trap that has plagued countries such as China.
The indicators are there for Africa and while it is still early, groups and organizations concerned with the said pollution problem are underlying the necessary steps to avoid this problem from getting out of hand.
“The economic consequences of air pollution (e.g. increased expenses of health services, damaged ecosystems that sustain the economy and reduced productivity from workers with pollution-related illnesses) makes it clear that it is cost-effective to timely redress the air pollution problems,” said a University of Zimbabwe environmental researcher.
