Singapore Thriving on Bamboo Furniture Exports
For most countries aspiring to become tiger economies, the need to turn to a more aggressive exporting endeavor has become a key towards achieving better growth. Eco-friendliness is among the leading factors that can help most economies achieve this and apparently Singapore has taken this cue as it has been properly focusing on being able to manufacture bamboo-based furniture that has become the attention-drawer of neighboring companies as well.

‘Using eco-friendly manufacturing process, this bamboo range of furniture does not take on the ethnic look of bamboo unless inspected closely, allowing for versatility in design,’ Mr Tan says.
Bamboo also has an edge over wood because converting bamboo into furniture saves more energy, he notes. Drying bamboo, for instance, takes eight to 12 hours in a kiln, while wood takes up to six weeks.
