New iPhone App Tracks Seasonal Produce
I just wrote about a fantastic new iPhone app called Locavore, which tracks seasonal fruits and veggies locally.
This is an exciting app because as the author himself mentions, many times people want to buy and eat local, but don’t know what is currently in season. The Locavore app takes the guess work out of the equation and presents it to you in a nice and easily understandable way. And since the info is right there in your pocket, this is great for those impromptu trips to the local grocer.
The Locavore app basically picks up your location and then displays a list of several veggies and fruits available locally right now.
Great for meal planning, picnic ideas or just general monthly grocery shopping. Stock up on the produce that is in season and plan ahead for those soon to be available.
