Paper House Made from Newspaper!

by max on Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Now, we  have seen newspaper chairs and newspaper benches but a house made out of newspapers?

The Paper House was constructed mostly from newspapers including 1-inch thick glue-and-varnish covered

newspaper walls.

The framework to the house is wood-just like any other house-it has a regular wood-en floor and wooden roof. The wall material, which was supposed to be insulation really, is pressed paper about an inch thick. It’s just layers and layers of newspaper, glue, and varnish on the outside that keeps it pretty water-proof actually. This was done in 1924 and he lived here in the summertime up until 1930.

What a cool house! And to think it was done so many years ago. Even back then people thought about recycling and being frugal. I especially like the furniture. It’s always interesting to read post like this. Keep up the good work.
