There have been various ways to help plant trees, much coming from causes or of course, voluntary and self-inspired efforts. But Ecosia undertakes something different. Ecosia has vowed to plant a new tree every 60 seconds, something they came up with after partnering with leading search engine sites such as Yahoo, Bing and non-governmental groups.
Under the initiative, web searches would translate to plant trees. They do so by reportedly donating 80% of their advertising income to The Nature Conservancy’s “Plant A Billion Trees” program.
The purpose of the program is to try and help in the restoration of severely damaged Amazon Rainforests by planting one billion native trees. And with Brazil taking the brunt of deforestation, his initiative by Ecosia should be timely.
