A new slant on being green
Clearly China is a different culture and yes they are trying hard, maybe even too hard to gain international recognition for business and for the country itself, yet sometimes there is the occasional slip up where they roll back to the old days.
The mountain range in Laoshou is no different because officials believed that the mountainside looked so ugly after quarrying that in order to make the area green they would just paint it.
The entire side of the mountain was sprayed green by a team of seven men, it took them forty five days to complete and it cost $56,000. However the smell was so intense that the villagers had to leave their homes.
