Eco-Friendly Undies

by erin on Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Pure Eve is a new Aussie organic clothing line! All the garments are made out of 100% organic cotton, are dyed with non-toxic dyes and every piece costs only $15.00.

Emily Humphreys, owner of the label, became an eco-advocate after seeing a documentary on the harmful effects of textile chemicals and dyes.

“Some dyes in fabrics can cause hormonal disruptions, skin irritations and contain cancer-causing chemicals and I thought this was phenomenal,” she said. “Some find it difficult to connect organic with fashion as they think it means the garments are edible. This isn’t the case.”

The line is really fun, flirty and cute. While Humphreys doesn’t have a website up yet, the line is currently being sold at Purely Cotton, which will open on Elizabeth Street in North Adelaide soon!
