Plush Chocolates Uses Eco-Friendly Packaging

by Brian Yalung on Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Here is a great Valentines Day gift to consider. Chocolate lovers may not notice it, but the packaging has been changing these days. This is not only in terms of design but on the materials used to mold them. And for Plush Chocolates, a new 100% Fairtrade company, have launched their product ranges with “eco friendly” packaging for their Luxury Fairtrade English and Belgian Chocolate collections.

Plush Chocolates makes use of Plantic Trays made from non- GM high amylose corn starch. They have a renewable resource content of approximately 85%, are biodegradable, home compostable and compostable to European (EN 13432) and American (ASTM 6400) standards. Additionally, Plantic® trays offer anti-static and odour barrier solutions, essential for chocolate packaging.
