Starbucks to promote eco movie

The movie, which is a documentary style story, is produced by National Geographic Ventures and Paramount Classics. The story follows the lives of a polar bear and a walrus, whose habitat in the artic circle is being threatened by global warming.

Starbucks the coffee giant has been involved in the promotion of music, cd’s, DVD’s and entertainment products, but this will be only the second time that they have promoted a film.

The movie will be called “Artic Tale” and Starbucks involvement will include in store signs and displays, plus a special National Day of Discussion, which will see experts on the environment speaking in a least ten major cities.

    Yeah, I'm sure they prefer backing a movie about something people will feel removed from, like polar bears in the arctic, instead of Black Gold, about the direct effect Starbucks customers are having on real people in Africa.
