Haunting Images of Undiscarded Planes, Trains, and Aircraft.

by Missy on Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Ever wonder what happens to used planes, trains, and military aircraft? Where do they go? and What is done with them? Below are some haunting images that show where some have ended up and where some are still standing today, many years after their former life.

Mining Vehicles in Namibia Graveyard

Military Aircraft Dead in Arizona

Old Steam Engines in Bolivia – R.I.P.

To see the “submarine cemeteries” with nuclear subs from the cold war, visit the source site. It is a shame these vehicles have not found a proper home and are laying, sitting, floating in places where people live, and or drive by on a regular basis. Alot of this waste has gone unhandled mostly because of monetary reasons. but…..

Surely the federal or state governments (not too mention the media) can take some time off from lesser issues (i.e. bill o’reilly rants) and focus on getting rid of dangerous and unhealthy equipment that is environmentally unsound. It’s only been what like 30-50 years that some of these have been “in storage” for lack of a better word, waiting for proper disposal.
