The Dhamra “Disaster” Port Project

by Brian Yalung on Friday, August 10th, 2007

Dharmaport Issue

It is only common to see businesses on the rise and unlike yesteryears, the issue of allocating and ensuring the green awareness practice linked with the whole project must be attained. Such is the issue surrounding this port project in Orissa where initial studies of ecological blunders may ensue if the people behind the project do not review the whole framework once again.

But the Orissa government has claimed that much of the issues being raised are more on the vested interest of the Greenpeace organization and not for the Orissa government’s interest in the whole matter. With the issue being out in the open, many are speculating the possibility of potential ban of the Greenpeace group for the project and worst, Orissa as well.

This seems like another impending disaster in the works for green efforts. Hopefully all issues would be ironed out to avoid ecological blunders in the end.
