Twelve eco unfriendly products to give a miss

by David Allen on Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Deciding to make a difference is one thing, but going green may not be as easy as your might think. The eco unfriendly products and materials have infiltrated more or less everything that we use in our daily lives. Yet there are some things that are worse than others, this will become more apparent when you look at the list below.

The Dirty Dozen:

The Dirty Dozen:

Styrofoam
Plastic food containers with Bisphenol-A (BPA)
Tropical hardwoods
Aluminium in cosmetics
Incandescent bulbs
Petroleum-based fabric sheets and laundry detergent
Over packaged goods
Paper towels and napkins
Plastic utensils
Disposable batteries
Commercial insecticides
Household cleaners

Naturally you cannot be expected to make all of the changes necessary to eliminate all of the products above, but if you just take one at a time, that will make a difference and by doing it gradually the change over to eco friendly products will be easier and will not notice so much in your everyday life.
