About

Keetsa! Blog is about eco-friendly and green news in today’s fast moving world. How can we make a better world?

At Keetsa, we promote the eco-friendly products and people through our blog.

We will be selling eco-friendly mattresses in the near future (September 1st), until then, we will have to blog and find more cool stuff about making our earth better and a nicer place to live.

You can check out some pictures and video of our new eco-friendly mattress store.

Erin Balser - Erin is an active environmentalist and outdoor enthusiast who believes in the power of the internet. She’s been involved in lots of environmental organizations since her early teens and tries to live as low-impact and sustainable life-style as possible. Though she’s a proud Bluenoser, she’s currently trapped in Southern Ontario, where this mid-May heat wave and lack of ocean are killing her. (Ah, the sacrifices one makes for their education!) She loves blogging, and is currently blogging for b5media for two blogs on their celebrity channel, in addition to my personal blog and the entertainment blog she co-writes. Environmentalism needs to be an accessible and exciting venue for people. She finds that too often that it’s riddled with guilt and sacrifice when it should be an adventure into new products, new activities and new ways of looking at the world.

Alternatively he acts as the General Manager for Merlion International Sales, Inc., a local trading company dealing in quality import and export consumer goods from the Philippines.

He blogs regularly for various blog sites in the line of business, lifestyles, marketing and technology. He has also been into content writing and has quite a number of posts available over the web today. Brian also has his own blogs about internet marketing and politics, check them out!

Brian’s Blogs:

Missy Diaz - runs and owns several blogs, her main effort is a vegetarian blog which she writes from her hometown of Chicago, where she writes about green and healthy living. Her latest blogging adventure is here at Keetsa! She lives with a roommate and a few furry friends. She loves to discuss all things green, discover new technology gadgets, reads voraciously, spends an unhealthy amount of time online, looks for new dishes to burn in the kitchen, and is looking to save the planet one blog at a time. In the summertime Missy loves to visit and hang at the the beach. On her wishlist is a nice new shiny neon green or neon pink eco-friendly laptop. Look for Missy daily at Keetsa! or at any of her other blogs.

Max Lee - Max usually blogs on zedomax.com about hacks, DIYs, and technology but likes to come over to Keetsa and blog about eco-friendly and green stuff whenever he feels “green” and the need to be active about helping the world become greener. But he’s usually on zedomax talking about gizmos, hacks, and all the really good stuff that spoil the environment when not trashed the right way and don’t comply to RoHS. Don’t read any of his posts on Keetsa since he’s not a enviromental expert but he does sometimes find cool stuff. You can reach him at max at zedomax.com if you ever want to yell at him. (Yes, that’s his girlfriend and she is edible, yes…)

Hey, Max, I saw your cool video on youtube a little bit above mine. You are going to get a ton of views with that because everyone wants to know how memory foam mattresses are made.

Great work!

Chuck

PS. It was nice having lunch and meeting you last Monday.

Hi,

I found your ‘blog’ while browsing the web and I would like to introduce you to our project, dedicated to fighting climate change and poverty, called Tree-Nation. Via our website you can plant trees for yourself or offer them to someone else. The trees are being planted in a virtual map on our website and in our real plantation in Niger. Eventually our goal is to plant 8 million trees in Africa in the shape of a huge heart. Have a look at our website to see whether you like the project and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Many thanks!

Hi Susie,

We are still developing the mattress. I think it’s going to be green tea related somehow… I don’t have details but we should have more info by end of this month. :)

Comment by max — June 8, 2007 @ 7:27 pm

hello, you guys have been tagged. You can participate if you want. I know it doesn’t have to do with much with the Eco stuff but maybe you can do it on your personal if you are so inclined. It’s always nice to know more about you… anyways look forward to doing an interview about the mattress.

Hello,

I wanted to let you know about a small group of people who are attempting to bring eco and socially responsible practices to the jewelry industry. I have created a blog, the only of its kind, to support people interested in purchasing jewelry that has ethical sourcing, and also to support the industry as a whole to move in this direction. I have listed many companies on the site who are putting their values into action.

I’m interested in joining this community and submitting articles that have to do with business in support of community and ecology. I am in this business attempting and my business model is based on studies over the past few decades with Native people of the American Southwest. You can see what I’m doing in jewelry at http://www.fairjewelry.org. My writing on socially responsible business based on indigenous principals is at http://www.circlemanifesto.com

Hi,

I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog for sometime now. I love how your posts truly connect to your readership. I’m interested to have an interactive/link-up/post with you. I’ve written a book that you and your audience might enjoy and am preparing to do a virtual blog tour and would love an opportunity to participate on your blog.

However, my young adult book ‘Turtle Feet, Surfer’s Beat’ is only a small part of what I’m trying to build. The book itself revolves around a typical suburban teen girl, Penelope, from the States that is forced to go to Costa Rica with her parents for her father’s job assignment. Involuntarily, her parents sign up Penelope and her little brother to spend two weeks at the Leatherback turtle biological station (for ‘their own good’). Penelope, obviously isn’t pleased but forgives the horrid accommodations and the never ending bug brigade as she sees the turtle and instantly pledges to do all she can to help it from extinction. But hang ten, dudes! Penelope is about to get help. One lonely night, as she’s patrolling the beach for turtle poachers she stumbles and falls directly into the arms of the local surf champ. Together they dive into the world of surfing and marine preservation.

These days, we are constantly facing global problems that seem to be getting worse and worse daily. Living in Costa Rica, I’ve been inspired to take action. I started by writing this book and am now developing a community of teens, surfers, artists, scientist, and everyone else who is interested in working together to have fun while helping out.

I would love to join forces with you and your readers in a fun, interactive way. I will gladly write a post about your blog (and whatever you will like to plug:), plus a link with your blog to my website and blog, in return for a short interview and mention on your blog.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon. To start we can link up!
Thanks so much,
Marina

Hey, John: I’ll look over your site, and if it fits our theme, i’ll add your site to our blogroll. How is that?

Thought this might be a cool product to talk about on your blog http://www.farfromboring.com/Promotional-Product/Computer-Accessories/USB-Devices/Ecobutton-ecobutton-107505.html

The ecobutton is a pc energy saving device that displays how much energy the computer has saved.

I came across your blog while researching websites with info about sustainable living. I am the Marketing Specialist for an up-coming internet boutique that will feature well-designed, recycled, sustainable, and organic products for the home and garden.

I am interested in possibly sending a digital press kit out in the near future after we have launched the website. Who is the contact person for such a thing? May I have an email address for this person in case I decide to do so?

Thanks for your time.

Jared: Thanxs for the tip, i believe David or Brian wrote a piece on the Ecobutton, at your recommendation.

Keep sending us your cool green tips. Thx!

Hey there - I just opened up a sustainable product review and research site at http://greenhome.huddler.com - we haven’t expanded into lifestyle products YET, but we are big fans of Keetsa - one of my coworkers wrote about you in her other blog: http://www.cleantechblog.com/2008/03/jump-in-my-green-bed.html

Anyway, I was hoping you’d be willing to post about a contest we’re running now through Earth Day - in exchange for sharing what you know about sustainable products, we’re giving away 10 prize packs worth $140 each - they include LEDs, CFLs, green cleaning products, recycled messenger bags, and more. Also, since we’re just starting out, we don’t exactly have 1,000,000 entries.

Take a look and please email me with any questions/comments. Take care,

dan
