Freeplay’s Eco-Friendly Radio

A radio that thrives on using the usual rechargeable batteries, it likewise uses solar energy as an alternative source. In the even that the radio would be used up, any proud owner of this radio from Freeplay can turn to solar power for aid.
The radio uses the removable rechargeable battery as its main source and depending on the owner; the user can remove it and use the solar power. A good gadget that can be bought as a gift or for personal use.
The NR-2XS is essentially a little digital AM-FM radio that relies on a top-mounted solar panel to supplement its primary AC power source. Featuring a removable rechargeable battery, the device can run completely on AC power or, when its battery is fully topped-off, run for 30 hours continuously, or possibly even indefinitely if exposed to constant bright sunlight. In and of itself, a solar powered radio may not be all that exciting. What makes the NR-2XS special though is its ability to charge mobile devices in the field via mini USB connection using a power output. The product also sports an audio line in so you could conceivably turn your iPod into a green, sustainable, solar-powered beat-box—nice. Expect the NR-2XS to begin shipping in June, retailing for $99.99.

This multi-use radio is just awesome! Freeplay is such a cool company! I myself own one of their older crank/solar radios and it is my morning companion as I get ready for work every day.
