Clothing retailer for refugees

by David Allen on Thursday, May 17th, 2007

The Japanese owned and run design house Uniqlo have come up with a unique idea in order for them to get onto the green bandwagon.

The company who have branches in the Japan, UK and the USA are making space available in their stores for people to bring their old and discarded cloths and shoes, these are then sent to a depot where they can be distributed to refugee camps, where the clothing will be needed urgently, as but by their nature these people come into our countries with literally only the clothes that they are standing up in.

Not all of the clothing will be desired, as some items are bound to be unbearable, but these will not go to waste as they will be recycled for fuels or even insulation products.
