Dell Expands The ReConnect Recycling Program

by Missy on Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Dell has a used computer recycling program called ReConnect, which is serviced by Goodwill in several states.

In total 18 states now are a part of ReConnect, including Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma and West Virginia – in 1,400 Goodwill donation centers nationwide.

Any brand of used computers are accepted, not just Dell and you will receive a tax write-off on your donation through Goodwill, if you need one.

This is all part of the commitment Dell has pledged to make their organization as eco friendly as possible and to enable easy, convenient and responsible PC recycling.

My only beef with Dell in this regard is their location search engine on the Reconnect website. It does not allow for search via city or state, but only via zip code. And the search only goes up to 75 miles of entered zip. A missed opportunity because of lackluster search features.
