Disposable Diapers To Get Recycled Into Roof Tiles

by Missy Diaz on Friday, September 23rd, 2011

A company based in the UK by the name of Knowaste – love that name by the way – is planning on taking used wet diapers (not soiled) and recycling them into products such as roof tiles.

The idea is to divert the tons of disposable diapers that end up in local landfills and instead reusing them by making vertical products. In the case of Knowaste, roof tiles and commercial tubes. They plan to create 5 recycling plants in the next four years and through each facility they would be able to recycle 36,000 tons of disposable diapers otherwise  known as (dirty nappies) in the UK.
