Food Grease and Waste to Power Diesel Vehicles in California
In Northern California, plans are underway to combine regular diesel and greasy food waste into an alternative fuel source.
Bio diesel producers, Energy Alternative Solutions, Inc is partnering with cafeterias, supermarkets, and restaurants like KFC, to produce alternative fuel from food waste. The bio diesel produced will be a blend known as “B20″ which is a mixture of 20 percent bio diesel and 80 percent regular diesel.
Per a press release from EASI, the EPA states that, “using B20 can significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions and smog”. Plans are set for selling this new diesel “at fueling stations in Central and Northern California”.
