A new development or twist as far as the Ford Focus is concerned may be forthcoming after divulging that a new kind of material may be used for the Focus’s seating material. Apparently the new materials will be taken from used plastic bottles and will be handled by a company called Reprieve.
The material will be a blend of post-industrial fiber waste to post-consumer waste. To make this happen. Ford will be diverting close to 2 million water bottles, 22 of which will be used for each electric-powered Ford Focus.
So come the North American International Auto Show and Consumer Electronics Show, Ford and Reprieve will be joining hands to collect those old water bottles for the said initiative. From the looks of it, the Focus will become the first vehicle to come out with interiors made from 100% clean technology.
