Diapers are notorious for making life miserable as far as waste issues are concerned and while many have been encouraged to make use of alternatives such as cloth diapers or ones that are less harmful for the environment, here is something that may soon transform them into handy home furnishings.
The new recycling scheme will be tested within four Scottish councils (Fife, Stirling, Perth and Kinros and North Lanarkshite) and will run for about six months. The trial will be funded by Zero Waste Scotland and stands to cut down over 450,000 nappies that are dumped daily.
While it would have helped if they revealed how the recycling process would happen, the thought alone for now is something worth waiting for. This innovative new scheme is a fantastic step forward for recycling and makes it easier for parents to do their bit for the environment.
