Green Catholic School to be Certified, a first for Michigan

St. Mary Catholic School in Michigan, is the first green catholic school in the state.

“Our students have done a great job of conserving energy and recycling,” said Margaret Torongo, kindergarten teacher and program leader. “The environmental program has been a terrific way to teach our kids. I hope the students encourage ecological behavior at home, and into the future as the next generation of leaders.”

I love it that grade schools in America are getting in on the green action and adding recycling programs and other activities to start kids early in learning about the environment and what they can do.
