Hand Me Downs, Popular Recycling Method With Parents
“There is no stigma any more of wearing hand-me-downs or shopping at Salvation Army or Goodwill”.
This is what Kathryn Finney, otherwise known as The Budget Fashionista said on the topic of recycling clother, from older kids to younger ones.
It is becoming more popular for parents to hand down the jacket (teen) Greg wore last year, to (younger) Peter who now can fit in it. This is a great eco friendly method to keep good clothing out of landfills, and keep it in the mainstream closets longer.
Look for clothing that is made well, that will last for new generations to use. Look for strong construction, good seams, and try not to buy clothes that is too trendy, as this will not bode well for the current set.
