Old devices, antique and so forth, can become great new pieces with the right push and redesign, technical specs included. Most of those devices are perhaps passé and no longer in use and if you want to check out a neat example, the Heathkit OR-1 oscilloscope which was now turned into a handy clock should be an awesome piece.
Of course, the transformation was not easy. Knowledge in circuitry and electronics was a must to get it working as a clock, something which was made possible through a new kind of custom controlled board which could draw any shape using the existing CRT display.
Regardless, the image above should impress you on what happened after all that effort, a recycling idea of the technical kind which will certainly gain some interest from the collectors and folks who are into uniquely restored and indifferent stuff.
