What’s in a soda beer bottle? A lot of glass of course! But if you get the chance to mold it into something different like let us say a drinking glass of sorts then you save the environment the trouble of piling discarded bottles while owning a pretty neat and unique glass in the process.
The glasses are called the Protect Our Earth Drinking Glasses, something that should be made just right on time for Earth Day. With the aid of an annealing oven (something that is set to about a thousand and one degrees for about 30 minutes) and a rod dipped into a melted pot of spectrum 96 glass helps form it into a punti.
The punti is then touched to the bottom of the bottle and transferred to a glory hole furnace. The bottle is heated until the glass begins to move. A special tool call jacks are then used to open the narrow bottleneck into a cylinder.
A bit sophisticated in the process of doing it but as you can see from the image above, the result is very impressive and should be neat to collect. The recycled soda bottle drinking glasses are available for about $30 over at Etsy.
