Recycled Stainless Steel Sinks

by Missy on Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Green home decorating and renovating mag, Natural Home Mag has a great statistic in the Sept/Oct issue on recycled steel. It blew me away. here it is, “The EPA calculates that recycling iron and steel saves enough energy to provide electricity to about 18 million U.S. homes for a year”. That is quite an impressive stat, considering that most homes have or use stainless steel in their homes.

One way to green your bathroom or kitchen, is by using recycled stainless steel sinks. One such manufacturer of recycled stainless steel sinks is by a Canadian company named Julien. They hand polish and hand weld 16-gauge recycled stainless steel and they go on to state that “any scraps not used get returned to the supplier for reuse“.

Should you go out and purchase a recycled steel sink? What about recycled steel prices? First, it depends on your specific situation and also what eco friendly measures you want to incorporate in your home renovation plans. I think this is great information for those who already use this type of product and are needing to upgrade or renew and want an eco friendly choice. Also it is good for those who are not yet aware of this option when remodeling their eco sound bathrooms. As far as prices, search is your best friend.
