Refined and not Mined Jewelry Collections

by Brian Yalung on Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Got old jewelry that has been forgotten? Well don’t keep it stocked up or give it away. It can be refined to become new jewelry that you can use for special occasions as perhaps your son or daughter’s wedding or even another wedding or precious gift to give.

Rather than buy new ones or look for mined gems, you may be surprised to find out that most of the new jewelry stores these days offer refined jewelry, mostly on a refined note.

With the slogan “Our jewelry is refined – not mined” Danforth Diamond emphasizes that while mining displaces earth and upsets the ecosystem of the area being mined, refining precious metals uses far fewer resources and has a lesser impact on the environment. “There is no difference between recycled metal and newly mined metal,” states Jill Renee, president of Danforth Diamond. “Both offer the same quality, durability, and shine. I believe this isn’t a trend; it’s the new way of doing business. There is no reason why all jewelry can’t be made from recycled material.”
