Robots made from Recycled Electronic Stuff

R3bots

Here is another dandy e-waste alternative. Marco Fernandes of Portugal has come up with an ingenious way to transform old electronic parts coming from DVD players, stereos and computers into adorable looking robots which he calls the R3bots (pronounced “are-cube-bots”).

However, the robots are more of artistic creations and do not actually function and move. The only functionality that they carry would be their LED-glowing eyes, something which is wired to batteries.

The R3bots measure variedly, some at 3.5 inches while others at a taller 7.5 inches. Perking up their look are some old jars, lamps and boxes, depending on what other stuff you would probably want to recycle.

The R3bots are actually being offered for sale. However, with a price range between 450 to 500 Euros, these things could probably only gain interest from collectors or the people who earn a lot.
