Sharp Introduces New TV Recycling Program!

by Missy on Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Sharp is upping the ante on its recycling efforts and is introducing or should i say expanding its nationwide recycling program.

Sharp is teaming up with MRM, a collective of electronic manufacturers, to efficiently and conveniently accept and process recycling from consumers. Starting January 15th you will be able to drop off Sharp brand televisions and other audio and video equipment at over 280 sites, with one in each of the 50 states.

This is a tall order, but if anyone can pull it off, it is these giant mega electronic companies. The other two big names involved with MRM and this recycling initiative is Toshiba and Panasonic.

Visit MRM for a list of all the new Sharp recycling drop off sites. And yes this is a free service to consumers.

  • This is a great idea. Many people don't know what to do with their old tvs or even broken ones and often just throw them in the dump. This actually allows them to be reused and properly disposed of.
  • Nice to have your name, Patrick. I kept referring to you as PTLG. lol. The Sharp recycling program is indeed a solid one, i just hope they are able to keep it alive with this rough economy.
