Shoe Saving Hero

Shoes may add to the garbage woes, especially if you do not know how to recycle them into something useful. But as far as this kids is concerned, a 12 year old at that, it becomes a mission of sorts to collect these shoes and save them from piling landfills.

The effort coming from a 12 year old should be something inspiring and an example as far as driving towards a more ecofriendly world. Ranging from shoe drives and collecting cast off sneaks, Erek Hansen with the help of his mother delivered about 4,000 pairs of shoes to the USAgain clothing recycling facility in West Chicago.

Rather than add to our garbage woes, the collected shoes will be reused by folks who are in need of them or recycled. All that effort coming from a 12 year old!
