What to do with old plates

by David Allen on Sunday, July 8th, 2007

Well normally you would throw them all way, but think on! Because there could be another way, not just for your old and cracked plates, but even if you were able to pick up a cheap set at a garage sales or somewhere.

Plates recycled

Sarah Cihat from her studio in Brooklyn rehabilitates old and discarded diner sets. The process means stripping down the surface of the original plate and then completely covering with a new design and glazing, once finish the set will look like new, in fact it is a new plate or diner set to all intents and purposes.

Prices start at around $34 and will rise to $59, depending on size and design.
